Settling Into College: Finding Home Away From Home
Transitioning into college signified the commencement of an entirely new phase in my life. The exhilaration of entering an unfamiliar environment was intertwined with the melancholy of departing from home. Leaving home was emotionally demanding, not merely because I was separating from my family, but also because I was parting from the comfort, familiarity, and affection that made life serene and effortless. The initial days in the hostel were particularly challenging. The monotonous mess food could never replicate the wholesome flavour or warmth of meals cooked with love at home. Each meal served as a poignant reminder of my mother’s cooking, her meticulous care, her attention to taste, and the affection woven into every dish.
